Organ Trio

The Tobie Carpenter Organ Trio (Jamie Safir – Organ, David Ingamells – Drums) play Carpenter’s original music. Celebrating the raucous sounds of New Orleans, swinging post bop New York, and 2020s London – compositions and improvisation full of wit and invention from three of the UK’s most in demand young musicians.

The group’s debut release DEAD PAN PARTY (Turquoise Coconut. 2017) reached No.1 in the iTunes Jazz Album Chart, receiving critical acclaim and radio play across the UK and USA. The group has toured extensively with generous support from Arts Council England, including dates at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club and Birmingham Symphony Hall. Collaborators and guests with the Trio include multi award winning vocalist Alice Zawadzki, New York alto saxophonist Alex Woods, and Tobie’s long time collaborator, Tenor saxophonist Nadim Teimoori.
